Translavic bv - your link to Eastern Europe
Translavic provides translation of technical writing (owner's manuals, user
guides, etc.) and other texts that contain a high degree of terminology.
The formulaic and repetitive nature of technical writing, plus the necessity to be consistent, makes computer-assisted translation using memories and databases particularly appropriate for these tasks. Our project managers and translators are expert users of all major computer-assisted translation tools, including SDL Trados, Wordfast and STAR Transit. Add-on programs allow source documents from the widest range of file formats, from the latest Microsoft Office files to XML, from HTML to InDesign.
Translavic founder Jeroen Hesp is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and his technical knowledge has proved indispensable in the selection of appropriately skilled translators and correctors, in the solving of problems encountered during the translation process and in the development of close working relationships with clients.
Over a period of two years, 2006 to 2008, we were retained by a well-known multinational to translate technical documentation (including drawings, material lists and specifications) from English and German into Russian. This project related to a huge gas turbine installation that will be deployed in the Kashagan oilfield in the North Caspian Sea.
